Currently used by thousands of students and hundreds of institutions of learning, the always-available REACTOR and RADIANCE families of lab simulations supplement and enhance students’ grasp of lab concepts and techniques while reducing costs for instruction providers. The REACTOR product family contains over 80 modular chemistry lab simulations for high school and first-year college/university students. Instructors can choose among the library of labs or customize to fit the requirements of their courses. REACTOR is used by thousands of students in many countries. The RADIANCE product family consists of 12 biology labs and is being used for the first time in Fall 2008 in North Carolina by several hundred students. The second semester of labs (an additional 13) will be ready for use in January. Both REACTOR and RADIANCE continue to be expanded in scope to match the requirements of chemistry and biology courses. They are also available in non-English languages especially Spanish. The always-available nature of Late Nite Labs products means that students with access to the Internet have 24x7 access to a laboratory designed for their chemistry or biology course. Students are able to perform the labs and transmit them electronically to their instructors for review and grading. The instructors, in turn, transmit grades and comments electronically back to the students. REACTOR and RADIANCE are available as full labs. That is, they can completely replace the traditional "wet-lab" with web-based simulation. No frogs or expensive chemicals are necessary! REACTOR and RADIANCE are also available as pre-labs. As such, they can be used to ready students for actual lab work. Instructors use the pre-labs to teach about safety and proper laboratory setup, discipline, and technique so that their students are ready to work when they come to the physical laboratory.
